working with us.
our goal is simple: help you make your words the best they can be.
Writers can’t be objective about their own work. The human brain does not work that way.
If you’re a writer, you need an editor. Absolute beginner or seasoned pro, it doesn’t matter — an experienced editor will not only polish your work, but give you the tools you need to strengthen and refine your voice and craft.
We are a collaborator, cheerleader, confidant and champion for your success.
Rest assured, your words are safe with us.

you accept.
You accept the quote and book a slot. Once we have agreed on the details, you’re in the schedule! Depending on the service, you may be asked to pay a deposit and/or sign an editorial agreement to hold your spot. All standard procedure!
we get to work.
This is the fun part! When your booking rolls around, the editing begins. You can relax in the knowledge your work is in safe hands. Depending on the size of your project, this can take anywhere between a few hours and many weeks. An estimation will be given upon booking.
your edit is returned.
Et voila! Job done! Your project will be returned to you, and an invoice for either the full amount or balance will be sent, payable within seven days. (Regular content clients, an invoice will be tallied and sent at the end of the month.)
we’d love your thoughts.
Please let us know if you’re happy with our work, and keep us in the loop about your project’s journey to publication! This is the part us editors live for. We may request a testimonial, which is always hugely appreciated, and we’d love to champion your work on our social channels (if that’s cool with you, of course!).
the editorial process.
the editor will:
+ Respect and retain your unique voice and point of view. Rest assured, your finished product will be authentically yours.
+ Identify your strengths and highlight the things you do well.
+ Work to your agenda, not ours or anyone else’s.
+ Deliver feedback and suggestions in a gentle, kind, constructive way. Tough love is not our MO.
+ Be a cheerleader for you and your work. We genuinely want you to succeed, whatever that looks like for you.
+ Support you from start to finish. Our emails are always open for questions and conversations.
the editor will not:
+ Simply point out things you’re doing wrong.
We provide explanations and examples with our changes and feedback, which will help you refine your craft in future.
+ Permanently alter your work. We provide suggestions and changes via comments and tracked changes, so you have the final say over everything.
+ Always tell you what you want to hear. Writers and editors ultimately work for the reader, so all edits are made with that end goal in mind.
+ Criticise or belittle your work in any way. We are not here to review your work, we are here to help you mould it into the shape YOU want it to be.
“You write to communicate to the hearts and minds of others what’s burning inside you, and we edit to let the fire show through the smoke.”
— ARTHUR PLOTNIK
